Bütün bu şeraitten daha elim ve daha vahim olmak üzere, memleketin dahilinde iktidara sahip olanlar gaflet ve dalalet ve hatta hıyanet içinde bulunabilirler. Hatta bu iktidar sahipleri şahsi menfaatlerini, müstevlilerin siyasi emelleriyle tevhit edebilirler. Millet, fakr ü zaruret içinde harap ve bitap düşmüş olabilir.

oh turkish youth!

your first duty is to preserve and defend forever turkish independence and the turkish republic.

this is the only foundation of your existence and of your future. this foundation is your most precious treasure. in the future, too, there will be malevolent people at home and abroad who will wish to deprive you of this treasure. if one day you have to defend your independence and your republic, you will not tarry to weigh the circumstances before taking up your duty. these possibilities and circumstances may be extremely unfavorable. the enemies nursing designs against your independence and your republic, may have behind them a victory unprecedented in the annals of the world. it may come to pass that, by violence and ruse, all the fortresses of your beloved fatherland will be occupied, all its shipyards captured, all its armies dispersed, and every part of the country invaded. and what is sadder and graver than all these circumstances is that the people in power inside the country may be blind, misguided. they may even be traitors. the men in power may join their personal interest to the political designs of the invaders. the country may be impoverished, ruined and exhausted.

oh, child of turkey's future,

even in these circumstances it is your duty to save turkey's independence and the turkish republic.

il vostro primo dovere deve per sempre conservare e difendere l'indipendenza turca e la repubblica turca.
ciò è il fondamento stesso della vostra esistenza e del vostro futuro. questo fondamento è il vostro tesoro più prezioso. in avvenire, anche, ci può essere gente malevolent nel paese ed all'estero chi desidererà privarlo di questo tesoro. se un certo giorno siete costretti a difendere la vostra indipendenza e la vostra repubblica, non dovete catramoso pesare le possibilità e le circostanze della situazione prima di prendere il vostro dovere. queste possibilità e circostanze possono risultare essere estremamente sfavorevoli. i nemici che cospirano contro la vostra indipendenza e la vostra repubblica, può avere dietro loro una vittoria senza precedente negli annali del mondo. può essere quello, dalla violenza e da ruse, tutti i fortresses del vostro fatherland caro possono essere bloccati, tutti i relativi cantieri navali occupati, tutti gli relativi eserciti dispersi ed ogni parte del paese hanno invaso. e più triste e graver che tutte queste circostanze, coloro che ha il potere all'interno del paese possono essere per sbaglio, disorientati e possono persino essere i traitors. ancora, possono indentify i loro interessi personali con i disegni politici dei invaders. il paese può essere impoverito, rovinato ed esaurito.

deine erste pflicht ist, die freiheit der türkei, die türkische republik für immer zu wahren und zu verteidigen.

es ist die alleinige grundlage deiner existenz und deiner zukunft. diese grundlage ist dein kostbarster besitz. auch in zukunft wir es in- und ausland neider geben, die dir diesen besitz streitig machen möchten. wenn du eines tages gezwungen bist, die freiheit und die republik zu verteidigen, um deine pflicht zu erfüllen, wirst du nicht an dich und deine lage denken. deine lage kann sich als sehr ungünstig erweisen.

die feinde deiner freiheit und deiner republik können in der ganzen welt einen beispiellosen sieg erringen. mit gewalt und list können alle festungen deines geliebten vaterlandes eingenommen, in alle arsende kann eingedrungen, alle armeen können zersprengt und wirklich jeder winkel deines landes kann besetzt werden.

aber schmerzlicher und gefährlicher als alle diese übel ist die möglichkeit einer staatsführung im lande selbst die der sorglosigkeit, dem irrtum oder gar dem verrat verfällt. die inhaber der macht können sogar um persönlicher vorteile willen mit den politischen bestrebungen der eindringlinge gemeinsame sache machen. die nation kann als unterdrückt und erschöpft in not und entbehrung zusammenbrechen.

o du jugend der türkischen zukunft!

auch in dieser lage, unter diesen verhältnissen, ist es deine pflicht, die freiheit der türkei und ihre republik zu erretten! die kraft, die du brauchst, bewahrst du in dem edlen blut, das in deinen adern durchfliesst.
